The Source for all your
After being in a devastating car accident in 2004, Mike Tangorra has been on a mission to educate individuals about insurance coverage. He has vowed to ensure that people are properly protected before a devastating event occurs in their life. We believe in educating our clients, providing them the best customer service and becoming involved in the claims process.
Our responsibility to you is to find the right protection at the right cost. We achieve this by conducting a comprehensive review of all your insurance needs. We will review your situation and make recommendations to cover the exposures that are unique to you. The fundamental philosophy of any insurance coverage is to pay a premium you can afford to transfer a risk you cannot afford.
When was the last time you reviewed the details of your liability insurance program with your insurance professionals? Today, life can change in a heartbeat. Without regular reviews of your insurance program, it is possible for gaps to form. The result can be disastrous for a family or for a business. Because of our focus and business-culture we are able to spend more time than many agencies on working with you to help you understand your insurance program and to help tailor it to meet your individual needs.
We're Here To Protect Your Family
Our goal is to protect you and your family from those unexpected events by finding the right coverage at an affordable rate. If you need Auto, Home, Life, Umbrella or any other personal insurance coverage, we can tailor a package to fit your individual personal insurance needs.
We strive to build long term relationships with our clients by providing advice on which Personal Lines plan is best for them and provide the best possible customer service when you have a claim. If you have a loss or claim, it pays to know there is a agent you can trust to protect you and your family.
Business Owners Policy
The idea of a one-size-fits all business insurance policy is simply inadequate to account for all the potential threats and liabilities a typical business faces. Businesses need to make sure they have adequate protection for a wide variety of potential risks so they can get back on their feet in a timely manner.
As your small business grows, you may need more insurance. Tangorra Insurance offers a wide selection of business coverage's to address the specific needs. You can rest assured knowing that whatever your coverage needs, Tangorra Insurance can help you find the right insurance for your small business.

What our clients are saying about us
"Absolutely the best in the business. I found them when I started my business 6 years ago. I have referred them to several clients and they have all been pleased. Highly recommend them for business and personal."
"I like Mike! You have a lot of choices when it comes to buying insurance. However, not every Agent/Broker is going to be there for you when you need it though. Mike is that kind of business professional. Knowledgeable, extremely competent, and truly on your side. Need insurance, I'd suggest you give Mike a call today."
"Tangorra insurance is the real thing, real people who care about people. I cannot recommend this company to you enough. I can be very institutionally challenged and I understand that farmers insurance is a big corporation but when it is administered through the integrity of the Tangorra family, it works wonders. I cannot recommend Mike and Teresa Tangorra enough. We recently had an accident and they walked us through it with ease from top to bottom very pleased with them."
Insurance Made Easy
What is the purpose of Insurance?
The major function of insurance is simply to restore your property and possessions or business to the point it was before the insurable incident occurred, to re-establish normalcy in your life.
Generally, the risks people face fall into the following categories:
People are their own greatest asset. Financial loss will almost always accompany the loss of one’s health or life. Hence life and health insurance.
People will incur a financial loss when owned property is destroyed or damaged. Hence auto and home insurance.
When people’s action result in injury or damage to others, the law generally provides that they be held financially responsible. This is where liability coverage comes into play under the home and auto policy.
How Much Insurance Coverage Do I Need?
State laws and mortgage companies will set certain limits that one may need. There is however considerable variance in the amount of protection you choose to buy. Determining the right amount of coverage for a particular person is one of the things that an insurance agent is trained to help with. We will advise you how to identify the risks you want to be covered for and help place coverage in force that offers the best value for your particular needs.
How is a business owners policy (BOP) different from general liability?
A business owners policy, or BOP, is a package of coverage's, including general liability, that have been grouped together to provide coverage for the basic common losses faced by a business. A BOP will cover the property your business owns and keeps on site such as furniture, computers and equipment.
BOPs do NOT cover professional liability, auto insurance, worker’s compensation or health and disability insurance. You'll need separate insurance policies to cover professional services, vehicles and your employees.
General liability insurance can cover the expenses related to non-employee injuries that happen at your property, damage you cause to someone's property, and advertising mistakes. In other words, it can cover some of the most common lawsuits that arise from everyday business activities
Do I need to carry Workers Compensation?
Workers' compensation is a state-regulated insurance program that pays medical bills and replaces some lost wages for employees who are injured at work or who have work-related diseases or illnesses. It also protects covered employers from civil suit brought by the injured worker. Texas, unlike other states, does not require an employer to have workers' compensation coverage.
Can I insure my business vehicle on my personal auto policy?
In general, you have two choices available: personal and commercial auto coverage. Unless you own a business and are trying to protect a company car, you will need to purchase personal auto coverage.
What coverage do I need for my classic car?
If you own a classic or collector car, you may be concerned about the amount that your insurance company will pay you if you have a loss.
You can get the coverage you want by purchasing what is called an “Agreed Value” policy. These policies are generally offered by companies that specialize in insuring classic or collector cars.
There are three different ways that the insurance company can value your car at the time of a loss.
Actual Cash Value
Because most cars begin depreciating the moment they’re driven off the lot, standard insurance companies insure your cars accordingly. They will adjust your payout based on what the car would be worth the day of the accident (prior to any damage occurring), instead of what you originally paid. This is referred to as a vehicle’s Actual Cash Value.
The second type of coverage would be stated value. In many cases, an individual will ask the insurance company that insures their other personal autos to add coverage for their collector car, so the insurance company will add the car to the policy with the stated value endorsement.
The company may even ask for some type of documentation to determine the stated amount at the time they insure the car, and this stated amount will be listed along with the car on the declarations page. Because of this, the insured may think this is what they will be paid if they have a loss.
But, if the claims adjuster thinks that the actual value is less than the stated amount on the policy, they will pay you the lower amount. While there are some cases where this type of coverage would be ok, this is not the type of coverage that most people want for their collector car.
Agreed Value’s definition is short and sweet. You and your insurance company simply come to an agreement on the value of the vehicle. In the event that the vehicle is damaged or destroyed, the insurance company pays out the agreed upon value.
This is the coverage that you want to have for your collector car on your insurance policy.
So, if you own a collector car, it is important that you understand how your car is insured on the policy you have purchased. You do not want to find out after something happens that you did not have the right coverage.
